Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Friday 24th May - All 4 seen

The palomino pony was found in the area around ///wimp.moisture.sonic at 18:00 this evening.  She had been relaxing among the trees, but wandered over to meet me as I approached.  She was incredibly friendly and was happy to stand and receive a long head rub.

The other two ponies were grazing in the thicket to the west, on the far side of the stream around ///belts.swims.hushed at 18:20.  The foal was lying down, surrounded by lots of bushes.  When he saw me, he immediately got up and came over to say hello.  He enjoyed a long neck and back scratch.  He actually had a few ticks on him today, one on the side of his neck, one behind his ear and a few around his "arm pits".  I carefully removed the larger ones.  He was just happy to relax and be stroked today, with the odd nibble for good measure.

The ponies slowly grazed through the pasture until they reached the east side of Brock's Hill at 18:40.  The little one stayed with me throughout and let his mum enjoy lots of grass and leaves.  After arriving, the ponies all took a break from grazing and came and said hello again.  They were all happy, relaxed and looking well.  Shortly before I said goodbye at 19:10, the palomino pony went for a bit of a roll around.

The ponies were all good today.
