Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 22nd May - All 4 seen

The ponies were all found on the east side of Brock's Hill at 18:45 this evening. The girls were all enjoying lots of fresh grass. The foal was lying down resting, but immediately got up to say hello. The ponies were all happy, relaxed and looking well. I was surprised at just how dry they were despite all the rain today. The foal had a damp back, but it soon dried out after a long back rub.

The ponies slowly climbed up the side of the hill, continuing to graze. The little one wanted to play, and was fascinated by the hood on my jacket. He gave it a good rub with his head before giving it a nibble. He soon gave up and returned to enjoying a neck rub during a brief period of sunshine.

By 19:20, the ponies had reached the top of Brock's Hill, where they continued to eat grass and gorse. The palomino pony was happy to receive a head rub while standing relaxing on top of the hill. She is an absolute delight to spend time with. I said goodbye to the ponies at 19:45. The ponies were all good this evening.
