Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Monday 6th May - All 6 seen

The five ponies were all grazing in the swampy ground around ///self.chess.sour at 16.30 this afternoon. The foal was lying down, resting on a grass island near to his mum. It had been raining since the early morning, so they were all rather damp, but were drying out quickly. The ponies all came over and said hello, which saved me from the worst of the difficult underfoot conditions.

The foal was asleep for most of my visit, but he did wake up around 17:05 and join Megan while she was grazing. As I was saying my goodbyes to the ponies just before 17:30, he came bounding over to see me. After some initial sniffing, he was happy to be stroked. He had dried out a lot from when I first saw him.

It was nice to see Carolyn and her husband, who also came to check on the ponies.

The ponies were all good today.
