Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

Wednesday 1st May - All 7 ponies plus one foal seen

Megan and her foal were found in the thicket around ///menu.scrapped.spurted at 17:55 this evening.  They were both a little wet from the earlier rain, but were otherwise looking good.  The little one was doing a bit of hill climbing this evening.  He was very curious and even though I was keeping well out of the way, he slowly wandered over to say hello and sniff my hand a couple of times ❤️.   Megan was happily grazing while keeping a careful eye on her baby.

The six other ponies were all grazing deep in the thicket further to the north in the area around ///flame.sprint.baker at 18:15.  They were all very wet.  They all took a break and came and said hello.  Even though she was soaking, Tilly insisted on getting a head rub.  The ponies continued grazing to the north, before heading under the cover of the trees ten minutes later.

As I was leaving the area, I saw Megan and her foal wandering through the thicket to meet up with the others.  I'm amazed with the progress of the little one.  On Monday, he was shaky on his feet, but today, he is walking through swampy, muddy and waterlogged ground while happily navigating deep thicket.

The ponies were all good today.
