Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Saturday 11th May - All 4 seen

The two original ponies and the foal were found near the main path on the east side of Brock's Hill at 13:15. They pretty quickly crossed over the path and into the pasture opposite around ///soil.poses.closer. The two ponies were happily grazing in the warm sunshine. The little one ran straight over to me, and we played pretty much for forty minutes until he went and lay down and had a snooze. He would run back and nurse from his mum, and then come wandering back over. Megan came over a couple of times to check all was okay. His front teeth are starting to come through, as he gently nipped me a couple of times when he was nibbling at my arms. He soon learned not to do it, though. The little one particularly enjoyed a long back rub today.

There was absolutely no sign of the newbie pony though, so I went off in search of her at 13:55 when the little one went and lay down. I thought I was going to be spared the pleasure of having to visit the northeast corner of the site but went there having not found her anywhere else. Even after a good search, I couldn't find her and returned to the other three at 14:40, who had crossed over to the area around ///shell.squeaking.digit. The newbie pony was still not with them.

Determined to find her, I set off to the northeast corner again and carried on west, following the fence line with the Aldershot Road. At 15:00, I found her grazing in the wooded area around ///heap.parsnip.grape. She was perfectly fine and had decided to go off and explore the full site by herself. The newbie pony quickly came over to say hello and was happy to be stroked for a while. She soon returned to grazing, enjoying the long grasses and other leaves from the thicket. She was happy, relaxed and looking really well. I said goodbye to her at around 15:25.
The ponies were all good today. Hopefully the newbie pony goes and finds the other three when she's finished her adventure.
