Was passing by Long Valley, so decided to stop off and check the little one was okay. I hadn't checked the blog to see that Grace had already been out, dealing with more fun and games.
The ponies were grazing on top of Brock's Hill at 14:40 this afternoon. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well. There were many flies around today, so there was lots of tail swishing and foot stamping going on. Megan was close by, happily eating, with the little one fast asleep on the grass behind her. I didn't want to wake him, so took a quick photo and went and spent some time with the other four ponies, who had started to graze on the eastern slope of the hill.
I was just saying my goodbyes when Megan and her foal appeared at the top of the slope just before 15:20. The little one quickly came wandering down the hill to say hello and allowed me to kneel and stroke him for a while. Megan was grazing close by. As I was leaving ten minutes later, he lay down and began to rest.
I found some empty glass cider bottles at the top of the hill near where the ponies were first grazing, which I took with me when I left.
The ponies were all good today.
