Nicky visited the site earlier this afternoon and picked up three of the ponies to take home to the farm. Diva decided she didn't want to leave Long Valley and tried every trick in the book to avoid getting on the trailer, including at one point running all the way to the far northeast corner of the site. Luckily, the temptation of some treats and her missing her friends drew her out of hiding. She eventually gave up, and wandered into the trailer.
Nicky brought along the most beautiful Palomino pony, straight off the New Forest, to join the group. As such, there are now three ponies plus the foal on Long Valley.
At 18:40 this evening, the three ponies were all grazing together in the area around ///donor.cadet.inflict in the far northeast corner of the site. The foal was lying down, resting close to Megan. The ponies were all happy and relaxed. They were still getting to know each other, and on a couple of occasions one would let out a neigh when another became too close for comfort. It was all very calm and friendly, though. The newbie soon wandered over to say hello to me and was very friendly.
The ponies continued to graze, wandering back in a south-westerly direction towards the main path. The foal was his usual friendly self and came over a couple of times to say hello. He was happy to be stroked while Megan grazed. He did nurse from mum a couple of times too, including once when they were both stood in a big puddle of water. The ponies got to the area around ///coarser.thinks.costly at 19.15. The foal was tired from all the walking and soon lay down to rest. Megan was grazing nearby. The other two were spread out, grazing in the last of the sunshine. I said goodbye to them shortly before 19:45.
The ponies were all good today.
