Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    Wednesday 8th May - All 6 seen

I was passing by Long Valley this evening, so thought I'd give the ponies an extra check. Megan was happily grazing in the area around ///blocks.grant.modifies at 19:30. Her foal was initially standing by her side, but he soon came running through the swampy ground to say hello. The little one was full of fun tonight and wanted to be stoked all over while nibbling at me. After about ten minutes, he went back to his mum to nurse, only to return to play some more. Both mum and foal were good. The other four ponies were grazing to the north in the thicket around ///origin.trial.dives shortly before 20:00. One of them neighed, giving away their location. They were all happy, relaxed and looking well. The ponies slowly made their way back to the area where Megan and her foal were found. The northeast part of the site remains very muddy and waterlogged and is difficult to navigate. Megan and her foal were deep in the bushes near to where they were first found when I was leaving at just after 20:15.

The ponies were all good this evening.
